Generally newer and more sophisticated than the east. It has huge commercial district such as Shibuya, Shinjuku and Ikebukuro, sky scrapers of Shinjuku, fashion towns such as Aoyama and Daikanyama and subculture towns such as Koenji and Shimokitazawa.
